Compliance Cop Chrome Extension — Last updated: May 15, 2026

Overview

Compliance Cop ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that highlights restricted or policy-violating phrases in ad copy text fields in real time. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Do Not Collect

The Extension does not:

Local Storage

The Extension stores the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync:

This data never leaves your browser except to sync across your own signed-in Chrome devices via Google's standard sync infrastructure, which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Audit Events (Optional)

If you sign in to a Compliance Cop account (a future Pro feature, not currently active), the Extension may send anonymized usage events (e.g., number of flags triggered, extension enabled/disabled) to our API at api.compliancecop.com. These events do not include ad copy text or any personally identifiable information. This feature is inactive in the current free version.

Host Permissions

The Extension requests access to all websites (<all_urls>) solely to detect text input fields on pages where you write ad copy. No page content is read, stored, or transmitted. All phrase-matching is performed locally within your browser.

Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is intended for marketing and advertising professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Extension evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
